Recently, during a conversation with my new boss (a serial entrepreneur), I was lamenting the fact that, while my father and my brother were both successful entrepreneurs, I never had the courage to start my own business. His response was, “It’s not a lack of courage. Most entrepreneurs start their own business because they don’t know any better.”
What I think he meant was, entrepreneurs are not the product of a conscious, courageous act. Rather, they are simply doing what comes naturally to them. Thus, they are ignorant to the risks. In other words, they are born to be entrepreneurs. It’s in their DNA. Do you agree?
